If you want to buy a camera memory card in today’s market, you may find it challenging to choose the right one. A card comes with the following criteria; Type, speed, price, capacity. If you want to buy a high-capacity card at a low price it may come with low transfer speeds. If you want to buy high transfer speed with a high capacity card it can come at a really high price. If you want to strike a balance between the two, you really have to compromise on quality.

For example, a 600X speed card can do a read speed of 90MB per second (600?150/1000).
The latest CF cards come with UDMA 7, which improves on clearing the camera’s buffer memory quickly, allowing the camera to be ready for the next burst. A firmware upgrade is required for the Canon 5D MKIII (you may also need it, contact the manufacturer) camera to take full advantage of UDMA 7.
When it comes to price, speed is the primary criterion that determines the price of a card. The next deciding factor is the capacity of the card. An SD card is 50% of the cost of a CF card of the same capacity. So, if you want to buy a high speed card with the same capacity you will have to pay more. On the other hand if you want to buy a high capacity card for a low price, it is possible to do so but you will get a low speed card.
