At its next show in India, Kia has decided to bet on the hotly contested compact SUV segment and launched the Sonet SUV. The all-new Kia Sonet EV starts at INR 6.71 lakh*, making it the most affordable compact SUV in the country, even as it competes with the likes of Maruti Brezza and Hyundai Venue.
A few significant features from Seltos have been transferred to Sonet. This list includes the likes of a 10.25-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system, a built-in eSIM card for UVO car connectivity, automatic climate control with an integrated air cleaner, a wireless charger and an electric sunroof. Powertrain options include four engines and five transmission options, including a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, a 1.5-litre petrol engine and two 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engines in different tunes. In terms of transmission options, there are 5 and 6-speed manual, 6-speed iMT, 7-speed DCT and 6-speed automatic transmission.
