Off the topic of VR training, I wanted to share a very simple but incredibly powerful tool that I’ve found useful in all of our planning, Arch Virtual and the like. In fact, I’d say it’s one of the most useful tools I’ve depended on for every decision or initiative I’ve made.

If you’re not already familiar with building a business model and the business model canvas (available here), you’ll want to start there. Unless you’ve read this or are already familiar with it, the pattern won’t be very helpful to you, and you’ll be very glad you did if you took the time to buy and read these books.

With any strategic decision or idea, I always check these patterns first. If I can’t make business sense using the business model canvas, I’m not going to spend time on it.
To that end, I needed a very simple way to integrate this thoughtful testing process into my digital business planning workflow. I often use Google Docs for early brainstorming, so I created this template that you can simply copy and paste into a Google Doc to brainstorm the value proposition and overall business goal of any new idea or solution.
In my role of managing a VR development company where anything is possible, I find it very important to carefully consider the business case and value proposition for every decision. I find these models very effective in evaluating and thinking about an idea or strategic decision.

I look at who Google’s primary customers are and how they provide value through search and advertising. Then we look at key partnerships that are the secret sauce of Google’s success and how it maintains its market dominance.
Based on this, we look at how Google treats its customers and the marketing channels they use to make purchases. Finally, we’ll look at the key resources Google needs to bring all of this and its big day into action.
The result is better insights into not only Google’s business model, but also its business strategy and the moat it has built around its ad coffers.
Ways To Illustrate Business Model Canvas Using Powerpoint
There are three important groups of customers for Google. Most important to its business model are the millions and millions of websites that provide information to Google for free. They allow or invite Google to review and index the information on their website. Without this raw data, Google wouldn’t be in business. Website owners allow this because they benefit from additional readers of their content. You don’t write a book so that no one will read it.
Google then processes this information so that it can use its index to provide high-quality, relevant search results when people search. This is a valuable proposition for all free users using its services. They can find what they want. Google then searches for what those people are searching for and then sells advertisers the ability to place ads in front of all search results.
I didn’t find a clear difference between Google and YouTube (click the link to see the YouTube business model) in the video. Because I see business models as very similar. The difference is that with YouTube, Google owns the entire platform on which the content is hosted. In other words, every website in the world seems to be controlled by Google. That’s a scary thought! Once the content – the video – is on the YouTube platform, it is processed and sold to advertisers in the same way.
The index is Google’s database of all the content freely available to spiders as they move around the web. The faster and more reliably the index is updated, the more accurate the search results will be.

Algorithms (many of them) determine which pages in the index should appear in search results and in what position. They focus on several things – increasing relevance and value for users; reducing low-quality results (keyword-stuffed pages or off-topic pages) and increasing performance for advertisers
Finally, computing power will deliver it all. I see computing power as a mix of physical assets, software assets, and the people who make the software. Physical assets include cables, data centers, and Google VPN. Software includes codebases and websites, and people create and optimize code. These are the main resources on the Google Business Model Canvas.
The rest of Google doesn’t fit the Google business model described above. 95% of Google’s revenue comes from Adwords. The remaining 5% is intangible. Google Drive, Docs, Gmail, Waze, Maps, Flickr and more. has a number of other web properties such as The purpose of having these is to “buy” additional information that it uses to refine the targeting data it sells to advertisers.
It also helps create a larger defensive space around Google to protect its core money-making machine. Any platform that attracts large numbers of people seeking or exchanging information will allow competitors to sell ads. To continue the medieval castle analogy, Google clears miles of forest around its castle so that no one else can get close.

It was decided that all of the company’s interests would be reorganized as a conglomerate with Google, with Google remaining the umbrella company for its Internet interests. After this happened, Larry Page, who was the CEO of Alphabet, was replaced by Sundar Pichai as the CEO of Google.

While it would be difficult to list every product and service produced by Google, it is possible to list the major products and services produced by Google in addition to the Google.com search engine.

Each book and magazine is purchased directly from publishers and authors, as well as through the Google Books Partner Program or Google Library partners.
