Government Grants For Home Loans – The Down Payment Assistance Program (DPAP) helps Nova Scotians who pre-qualify for an insured mortgage to buy their first home. Eligible participants can apply to receive a loan of up to five percent of the purchase price of a home.
Loans provided under this program are interest-free, repayable over a 10-year period, and must be used for a down payment (cannot be used for financing, closing or other costs). The maximum loan available is $25,000.

After the EnerGuide pre-assessment is completed, you will need to review the recommendations and decide which adjustments work best for your budget and renovation plans.
You must book a post-retrofit EnerGuide assessment and submit the required documents online or by post. Once the post-repair EnerGuide evaluation is complete, your new EnerGuide label will show you how much more energy efficient your home has become.
You will receive an email asking you to confirm your total grant amount, which will help cover part of your readjustment costs. After confirming, you will receive a check for the grant in the mail within 30 working days.
