For example, between 2014 and 2018 there were seven closures of conglomerates with sales of $6.6 billion, of which Sears ($4.2 billion) and Target ($1.3 billion) were by far the largest. Mergers and acquisitions among ten conglomerates impacted $37.3 billion in revenue, centered on four of the largest conglomerates in 2018 (Weston, Empire, Metro, and McKesson).
