You’ve heard it in songs, seen it on TV, and possibly dreamed about it during your work week. LIV is Miami Beach’s most famous club, and for good reason. This Vegas-worthy venue at the famed Fontainebleau Hotel has seen no shortage of TMZ-worthy moments over the years, especially at the famous weekly gathering known as LIV on Sunday. If you’re willing to dress up and shell out, you’ll love celebrity spotting in the VIP section.
Welcome to the Basement, where your options are wonderful everywhere. Want to bowl with your friends on neon-lit lanes? Continue. How about some ice skating at an adorable indoor ice rink? It is an option. And dancing? You h. It’s the perfect trifecta, made even better by a rotating roster of DJs. You have two bars to choose from, plus the option of bottle service for a true VIP experience.
Located on the ground floor of Space, this small club is a kind of hip younger brother that books acts that dance music lovers drool over. The place is intimate and DJs perform right on the floor next to the audience. Floyd is great if you’re not quite ready for a mega club, but you’re still itching to get lost in the music and dance with friends until late.
Story, the younger cousin of LIV (both clubs are owned by the same team), resembles its counterpart in both scale and scope, but has also managed to create its own identity. Huge hip-hop acts like Travis Scott stop by often, and big DJs tear the house down on a weekly basis. Although the dress code is still enforced, Story is a bit more accessible and for the people than LIV, which means it comes with a rowdy crowd ready to come down to last call.
Things To Do In Miami At Night
This 24-hour Downtown stronghold is part nightclub, part music venue, part strip club and part rooftop restaurant. Dripping in neon, with ultra-flexible trapeze artists dangling from ceilings and jiggling burlesque dancers seated in every direction, there is perhaps no nightclub in the world as over-the-top as E11EVEN. After an extensive recent renovation, most of the furniture you see is brand new, but the crowd is as wild as ever.
The space reigns as Miami’s favorite after-hours dark club. Over the past few years, the 24-hour Downtown venue has also undergone a programming renaissance, with more eclectic offerings than straight techno on its infamous outdoor patio—though rave remains the dominant flavor. Riding solo? Check out the club’s Instagram and read the comments section, which apparently doubles as classified ads for single clubbers.
The closing of Wynwood’s underground dance institution Electric Pickle broke the hearts of ravers from Miami and beyond. Luckily, ATV Records popped up in its place with the help of the team behind much of the Pickle magic (read: the acts are still next-level). Tucked behind a curtain at Downtown eatery Melinda’s, this cozy spot retains several fixtures from that Wynwood location, including the iconic spaceship disco ball and, of course, the pounding bass that helped make Pickle famous.
Miami’s iconic gay megaclub remains a staple for the city’s LGBTQ set, while also welcoming every tolerant and dancing soul through its hallowed doors. Twist is a great place to let your hair down without worrying about the South Beach poses going on at other velvet rope clubs. (True to its slogan: “Never a cover, always a groove.”) There are two levels, three dance floors and seven different bars inside, serving two-for-one drinks daily from 3 to 9 p.m. There is never a dull moment at Twist.
South Beach Miami Hotels
Designed more for dancing than sitting (hence the name), it’s packed tight and kept very dark, except for those moments when the beautiful light fixture flashes and illuminates everything around you. Helmed by internationally acclaimed DJ-producer Behrouz and his partner Megan, Do Not Sit has built a reputation for offering top-tier guest acts and underground sensibilities in a less pretentious environment and with a more accessible cover.
A new focal point on North Miami Avenue, Oasis swung for the fences when it opened as a hybrid indoor/outdoor bar, club, venue and food hall. With several areas to dance, relax on the grass, grab drinks or grub and vibe out, it’s an ideal place for groups. Check the events schedule for weekends and late nights when the Oasis can be swarmed. DJs such as Tiesto and Honey Dijon have already graced the stage, and Travis Scott hosted his Rolling Loud after-party here.
Open since 1991, Mango’s is a touristy South Beach nightclub that hosts dinners with a show and salsa and bachata lessons along with nightly open format DJs. Ideal for large, boisterous groups such as birthdays and hen parties, Mango’s has several themed rooms to dance the night away. Depending on the day, you can find live acts like the Cuban Conga Show and Mango’s Dancers. Just be sure to check their calendar and book your reservation in advance. Otherwise, it’s just the typical club pop hits for you.
Wynwood’s super-popular Asian-themed food hall leans heavily on its nightclub alter ego (they do have a record store out front, after all). When the sun goes down, the staff here are quick to clear the outdoor dining tables and chairs to make way for a spacious dance floor, which is typically packed by 5 p.m. 23.00 most nights. The DJs are eclectic and always on point, spinning everything from low-key disco and house cuts to hard techno, EDM and trap. Everyone from Boize Noys and Claude VonStroke to Diplo and Walshy Fire have graced decks here.
The World’s 100 Best Clubs
This is Wynwood’s best place if you want to dance to a hearty mix of modern hip-hop, Latin and trap hits. The indoor-outdoor space opens early on Saturdays (2 p.m.) and Sundays (1 p.m.) for popular daytime parties, kept cool by rows of massive fans and drink specials like $5 Modelos and mimosas on social Sundays. If you’re attending with a group, table service will give you the best value – and let you skip the line. A nice perk when it’s a steamy 90 degrees out on the pavement.
